Badminton
Badminton
Badminton CCA provides students with the opportunity to develop their technical skills while building strong character values such as sportsmanship, discipline, and teamwork. Through structured training and friendly competition, members learn to strive for excellence both on and off the court.
Objectives
In Badminton, the players will be developed in these three key areas:
-
Skills:
Students will learn to master grip, strokes, footwork, tactics, and rules through progressive drills and gameplay.
-
Values:
Through Badminton, students will embody core values such as fair play, respect for opponents, perseverance, and integrity in every training session.
-
Leadership
Developing confident leaders who communicate and foster unity through play, peer-to-peer coaching, and collaboration.
Programme Highlights
Training sessions
Led by our coaches, sessions focus on footwork, technique, and fundamentals. We place a strong emphasis on character and values, building discipline and resilience to stay focused even when the training gets tougher.
National School Games (NSG)
Our school team participates in the annual National School Games, giving players the chance to represent the school with pride. It’s a valuable opportunity for them to learn from their peers and players from other schools as well as to display sportsmanship under competitive settings.
Friendly Matches
Informal matches with other schools are organised to enable more students to have match-play experiences. These sessions provided the players the opportunities to learn through play, allowing them to test their skills in a more relaxed and supportive environment.

Students’ Experiences
“Badminton is really fun! We get to play games and learn new skills. During training, I learnt how to lob and serve properly. I have also made many new friends through this CCA. I always look forward to training sessions because I get to spend time with them!” - Emmett Low Zhi Yu
“To play badminton well, I need stamina because it involves a lot of running, jumping, and cardio. Through drills and practice, I also learnt how to do lunges properly. I had the opportunity to represent the school in NSG. It was tough, but I really enjoyed it. I gained experience on how to improve my lobbing, which is my weakness, and also discovered that I am actually strong at hitting the shuttle to the back of the opponent’s court.” - Ian Tan Jun Hao
